Considering the issues concerning functional safety has been an obligatory element in the development of technical systems in many sectors for decades. The ISO 26262 standard has been adapted to the sector and is therefore practically usable for automotive manufacturers and suppliers and does not only concern the conventional development phase but extends to the whole life cycle from product planning to production, operation and decommissioning.
Assystem Germany offers a 3-day basic training course in "functional safety" that provides a summary of the entire safety-based product development cycle according to the structure of ISO 26262. Issues considered include process design, hazard analysis, safety concept compilation, safety analysis, hardware and software development, verification and testing. Focal points include interpretations and practical examples, as plain presentation of the standards content cannot convey a feeling for appropriate application. Several group exercises regarding different aspects of the standard are performed and discussed. The training shows that functional safety is primarily an engineering activity and not a mere process or quality assurance issue.
This training addresses future experts in functional safety as well as managers, project managers, developers, system architects and test managers. The target group primarily includes representatives of the automotive sector - OEMs and suppliers - due to the sector-specific content of ISO 26262.
Relevant professional qualification (electrical technician, information technology, mechatronics, vehicle technology).
After the training, participants will know all core aspects of functional safety, have an overview of ISO 26262 and hand-on experience with its application in a development project. They will be able to plan and guide development projects with consideration of the standard and to apply the specifications of ISO 26262 in their role in the development process.
We will gladly arrange training according to your individual requirements.
Our trainers are senior system engineers in the area of functional safety and have many years of project experience in development projects of different automotive OEMs and suppliers.
